Almost one million people have contracted AIDS in China and the number of AIDS cases grows quickly. AIDS epidemic is severe in Henan, a province located in north central China. Many of them contracted the virus while selling blood to improve their standard of living in the 1990s. Many children became orphans when their parents died of AIDS. This situation received attention worldwide as well as the Chinese government. Although aids for the victims become increasing like finding adopting families for the children and supporting their education, the Chinese government still faces a lot of problems and challenges.
