MANY LISTED COMPANIES ARE REPORTING BELOW PAR INTERIM FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE 1ST HALF OF 2008, AND SOME ANALYSTS SAY THE WORST IS NOT YET OVER. OTHERS SAY THERE ARE BRIGHTER SPOTS IN THE HK ECONOMY AND ITS STOCK MARKET. MONEY MAGAZINE REVIEWS CORPORATE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE AND FINDS OUT WHAT INVESTORS CAN EXPECT IN THE SECOND HALF. DEMAND FOR LUXURY GOODS AND SERVICES IN THE ASIA PACIFIC REGION IS ESTIMATED TO GROW AN AVERAGE OF 12% PER YEAR BETWEEN 2006 AND 2016, AND THE DISCRETIONARY SPEND OF THE AFFLUENT IS SET TO GROW MORE BY THAN 75% BY 2015. THIS PUTS THE REGION UNDER EVEN MORE SERIOUS CONSIDERATION BY INTERNATIONAL LUXURY BRANDS.
