Hong Kong's Growing Wealth Gap (26 Nov 2010)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

Tonight we’re devoting the whole of The Pulse to Hong Kong’s wealth gap. Some people still seriously argue that Hong Kong doesn’t have any poor people. Any real poor that is. And yet, according to at least one measure, Hong Kong has the world’s largest wealth gap. And it’s growing with increasing inflation and as hot money from elsewhere in the world flows in. With us in the studio to discuss it are: Sophie Leung of Economic Synergy, George Leung of HSBC, and Nelson Chow, who is on the Steering Committee of the Community Care Fund.
