Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

The votes are in. The United States has a new president-elect and – given that country's dominant global role - the world has a new United States' president-elect. Barack Obama will be inaugurated President of the United States on January 20th, and has already begun assembling his team, certainly aware that economically and politically he may be facing some of the more daunting challenges faced by any president. With us in the studio to discuss the effects of Barack Obama's election on not only the United States, but also the world, are David Zweig of the University of Science and Technology's Centre on China ’ s Transnational Relations; Hugo Restall, the Chief Editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review; Joseph Sternberg of the Wall Street Journal Asia, and Michael DeGolyer of the Baptist University's Department of Government and International Studies.
