Consultation Paper on Healthcare Reform (14 Mar 2008)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

We devote tonight's show to a subject that's likely to affect all of us, the future of Hong Kong ’ s health care services. Yesterday the government released a 153-page consultation paper highlighting six options for financing the health services, and suggesting possible future improvements to our healthcare system,. In part one, the Secretary for Food and Health, York Chow, talks to us in the studio about the new proposals. That's followed by a report in which we get opinions on them from doctors E K Yeoh and Paul Shea, as well as patients with chronic and expensive medical conditions. In Part Two, two more doctors: Leong Che-hung of the Executive Council and Dr Kwok Ka-ki of the Legislative Council, give us their views.
