HOT WATER SUPPLY AND ROOM BOOKING DURING TERM BREAK (3 Aug 2012)

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendly

Thank you for your suggestions to the Library.

Some users already expressed the same suggestion on installing drinking fountains which supply hot water in the Library.  A request has been submitted to the university administration for consideration.  We shall keep users informed of the progress.

Provided that there are empty Individual Study Rooms during the summer term break period, we are happy to allow users to request for using the rooms even if their room quotas are finished.  Please feel free to approach our Circulation Counter for necessary arrangement.

If we can assist you further, please feel free to let us know.

Regards,

Andrew Liu

Access and Circulation Librarian

I have two suggestions to make:

1. Installing drinking fountain(s) with hot water supply.  The existing one gives only cold water.

2. Relaxing the quota for reserving for Individual Study Room (ISR) during term break.  As a frequent user of the ISR, I find it inconvenient to observe the existing quota of using ISR during term break when vacant rooms are always available, but my quota is always limited to four sessions per week.  When there's no 'no-slow' case, I don't even have a chance to do a 'walk-in'. In fact, it is a wasteful of library resources.  So I suggest that the library consider relaxing the quota during term break.
